You are experiencing conflict, and you do not know what to do about it, so you do nothing. It is common and all too easy to acclimate to bad conditions – so much so that you forget what it is like to live a joyful life free of conflict. It takes no thought or effort to get used to a bad situation. It is like the proverbial frog who does not notice that it is being cooked to death because it was placed in cold water that was slowly heated to the boiling point. Conflict has a way of weighing you down and removing some of the pleasure from life.
There is something you can do about it. “Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending.” ~Author Unknown. Address and overcome the conflict through mediation. Mediation is a method to resolve conflict without the need of attorneys or unpleasant and unproductive fights. A mediator is a neutral professional who is skilled in conflict resolution and understands people. The mediator will help parties communicate and come up with solutions to end the conflict. Mediation works at ending conflict almost all of the time – some quote the success rate as being almost 90 percent. Mediation can be used for conflicts between significant others, divorcing couples, family members, co-parents, friends, neighbors, businesses, co-workers and any number of other situations.
Does it sound to be too good to be true? It is not. Live is too short to waste time being in conflict. Or, as Ruth E. Renkl put it: “You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted.”
It is not too late to make positive changes in your life. Take control of your happiness now. “If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance.” ~Andrea Boydston.
